Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Privacy Statement

The Indonesian Journal of Material Research (IJMR) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits this site, registers an account, submits a manuscript, or reviews for the journal. This statement explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and who else can see it.

Information we collect

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

When you register an account, the journal stores the information you enter yourself: your name, email address, affiliation, country, and — where you choose to provide them — your ORCID iD, biography, and profile photograph. Authors, reviewers, and editors also generate records in the course of the editorial process: submitted files, correspondence sent through the system, review reports, and editorial decisions. This material is retained as the permanent record of how each manuscript was handled.

When you simply read the journal, our server records the request in its access log, in the ordinary way that web servers do. Those logs are processed to produce the article view and download counts shown throughout the site. IP addresses are used in that processing to identify and discard automated traffic, and are not used to determine the location of individual readers.

Who can see your information

Your name, affiliation, country, and ORCID iD are published alongside your article if you are an author of an accepted manuscript. This is a normal and permanent part of scholarly publishing, and it is how your work is attributed to you.

Editors and journal staff can see the account details and manuscript records of the people involved in the submissions they handle. Peer review at this journal is double-blind: reviewers are not shown the identities of authors, and authors are not shown the identities of reviewers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described under Cookies and third-party services below, or where we are required to do so by law.

Cookies and third-party services

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. This site uses the following:

  • Session cookie (essential). Open Journal Systems, the software this journal runs on, sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it, logging in is not possible. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Cookie preference (essential). When you answer the cookie banner, your choice is stored in your browser for one year so that you are not asked again on every visit. It records only your choice, not your identity.
  • Google Analytics (analytics). This journal uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are visited, from which kinds of device, and how visitors arrive. Google sets its own cookies and receives your IP address as part of this. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • PlumX Analytics (analytics). Article pages display a PlumX metrics badge, a service provided by Elsevier, which reports how often an article has been viewed, captured, mentioned, and cited across other platforms. Loading the badge discloses to Elsevier that the article page has been requested.

You can change your cookie choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser's own settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.

Registration is protected by an image verification step provided by the journal software itself; it does not involve a third-party service.

How long we keep it

Published articles, and the metadata that identifies their authors, are part of the permanent scholarly record and are retained indefinitely. Editorial records — submissions, reviews, and decisions — are retained for as long as the journal needs them to document how a manuscript was handled, including after a submission is declined or withdrawn.

To ensure the long-term availability of what we publish, this journal participates in preservation systems that keep distributed copies of its content in libraries. Those copies contain published articles and their metadata; they do not contain account details or editorial correspondence.

Your rights

You can view and correct the information held in your account at any time by signing in and opening your profile. If you would like a copy of the information we hold about you, or would like an account closed, please contact us using the details below. Where information forms part of the published record or of the editorial history of a manuscript, we may not be able to remove it, and we will explain why if that is the case.
